Social Registry WB — Documents Required & Eligibility Checklist

Planning to apply for the Annapurna Yojana on the Social Registry portal? Getting your documents and eligibility straight before you start is the simplest way to avoid a rejection or a "reverted" application. Here is the complete checklist.

Who can apply

Per the scheme guides, the Annapurna Yojana (Annapurna Bhandar) is for women beneficiaries resident in West Bengal, with guides citing an age band of 25 to 60 years. It replaced the earlier Lakshmir Bhandar programme, and the benefit is Rs. 3,000 per month paid directly into the beneficiary's bank account through DBT.

Documents you need

  • Aadhaar card — of the applicant.
  • Ration card — family ration card.
  • Bank passbook page — showing account number and IFSC. Critical: it must be a single-holder account with Aadhaar seeded. Joint accounts get rejected at the payment stage.
  • Recent passport-size photograph — clear, front-facing.
  • Aadhaar-linked mobile number — active, since the whole portal login runs on mobile OTP.
  • SC/ST certificate — only if applicable to you.

How to apply online

  1. Go to socialregistry.wb.gov.in and open the citizen portal.
  2. Log in with your district, mobile number, and OTP.
  3. Open the fresh application form and fill in personal details, household data, and bank details carefully.
  4. Upload your photo and clear scans of Aadhaar, ration card, and passbook page.
  5. Review everything once for typing errors, then submit. Save the Application Reference ID — you will need it to track your application status later.

If the portal is congested, you can also collect a physical form and submit it at your local BDO office or municipal collection cell.

Mistakes that get applications rejected

  • Blurry document scans. One of the top reasons for reverted applications. Scan in good light; a free scanner app on your phone works fine.
  • Name mismatches. The name on your Aadhaar, ration card, and bank account should match. Small spelling differences cause verification failures.
  • Wrong bank account type. Joint account or an account without Aadhaar seeding = payment failure even if the application is approved.
  • Inactive mobile number. If the registered number stops working, you lose OTP access to your own application.

After applying

Keep your Application Reference ID safe and check your status on the portal after a week or two. If the status shows "reverted," correct whatever is flagged and resubmit rather than filing a fresh application — duplicates slow things down.

This is an independent guide and is not affiliated with the Government of West Bengal. Scheme rules can change; the portal itself is the final authority on current eligibility and deadlines.
