The Social Registry WB Gov In is a flagship data infrastructure project supported by the World Bank, designed to provide a comprehensive and integrated platform for social protection in West Bengal. Our mission is to empower citizens by providing easy access to various benefits, determining eligibility, and strengthening coverage and targeting of assistance for poor and vulnerable groups.

Our mission is to create a unified and dynamic information system for social protection, serving as a one-stop platform for the intake, registration, and determination of eligibility for various social programs. We strive to proactively identify citizens eligible for benefits through our Trigger Management Platform, reducing the need for individual applications.

Our History

The Social Registry WB Gov In is part of the Government of West Bengal’s (GoWB) initiative to create a unified portal for all Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) schemes. The project is being developed with the assistance of the National Informatics Centre and is tied to the ‘Jai Bangla’ platform. We are building on the Socio-Economic Census of 2011 as baseline data, with the goal of eventually covering all potential applicants across various programs.

The practical application of our system is evident in the rollout of major schemes like the Annapurna Yojana, which provides ₹3,000 monthly to eligible women, and other social pensions. Beneficiaries are required to apply through the official West Bengal Social Security Portal and receive funds via Aadhaar-linked DBT.
